Academy of Art University - “The Future”

The Challenge:

After graduating from Academy of Art University and establishing a professional practice, I was contacted by the university to develop a critical proof of concept. As AI and virtual production technologies rapidly evolved, AAU needed to evaluate whether AI-generated content could meet professional advertising standards. The project would determine the viability of launching the first accredited AI degree program in Art and Design—requiring a commercial-grade demonstration of AI's creative potential for university leadership and accreditation bodies.

Our Approach:

Developed "The Future," a fully AI-generated commercial for the Rivian R1T electric truck using Midjourney. The project showcased AI's capability to produce broadcast-quality advertising content—from concept development through final execution—while maintaining creative vision and brand storytelling. The commercial needed to prove that AI could be a legitimate tool in professional creative workflows, not just experimental technology.

The Results:

Successfully demonstrated AI's viability for professional advertising, directly contributing to Academy of Art University's decision to create and launch the first accredited AI degree program in Art and Design. The commercial continues to be used in program marketing materials, serving as a foundational example of AI's creative potential for prospective students and industry partners.
